How Do I Meet People?
One of the best ways to get plugged-in at Cornerstone Church is to get involved! Fellowship at Cornerstone Church extends beyond Sunday worship. Here are a few opportunities to increase your involvement and interaction with fellow brothers and sisters in Christ.
Family Game Night
Approximately each quarter, a Family Game Night takes place at Cornerstone Church. This is a great time of fun and fellowship! You can bring your favorite card/board games and snacks. Make sure you check the calendar on the “Events” page to see when the next Family Game Night is scheduled.
Men & Women Retreats
You can spend a Spirit-filled and relaxing weekend at Pinecrest Campground! Included in the event is great Bible teaching, excellent praise and worship, sporting events, fishing, and time to catch your breath. The Men’s Retreat takes place in late April while the ladies enjoy their retreat in September. Be watching and listening for the registration dates so you can sign-up for an awesome retreat!
Prayer/Fellowship Breakfasts
One Saturday each month, the men and women enjoy a time of prayer, food, and fellowship. Both men and women meet at 8:15 AM with the ladies at Ozark Cafe (662 Missouri Avenue) and the men at Ryans (1321Preacher Roe Blvd.). Please bring money to cover your food, drink, and tip. We hope you will join us for breakfast.
Secret Sister
Women are secretly paired with a fellow sister in Christ for an entire year. During this time, you write encouraging notes, give little gifts, and pray for your Secret Sister. At the end of the year, Secret Sisters are revealed. This is a great opportunity to be an encouragement in someone’s life.
Sports Teams
Cornerstone Church sponsors a co-ed volleyball team from January to April and a men’s softball team from May to August. Whether you choose to play or cheer from the sidelines, we would love to have your support.
Sunday School
Cornerstone Church offers a variety of Sunday School classes beginning at 9:45 AM. Classes are divided into four groups: Nursery (infant to pre-school), early elementary (kindergarten to 4th grade), pre-teen (5th to 8th grade), and the adult class. Sunday School is a great time to learn and discuss more about God and the Bible.
Wednesday Night Bible Study
Great things are happening at Cornerstone Church on Wednesday nights during our mid-week Bible study. In addition to studying God’s Word, we have a time of prayer, praise, and worship. Currently, we are in the book of Hebrews. We hope you will join us on Wednesday evenings!
Work Days/Fundraisers
We want to take the best care of God’s House, so we periodically schedule work days to complete certain tasks. At times, you may find the Cornerstone parking lot filled with yard sale items as we are raising funds to help send our youth and adults to camps/retreats. Helping hands are definitely needed for our work days and fundraisers!
Youth Camps
During the summer months, children and teens have the opportunity to spend a week at Pinecrest Campground. While at camp, they will learn more of God’s truths, enjoy recreational activities, and hang out with their peers from other Nazarene churches. Teen Camp is for both guys and girls between 8th-12th grade. Boys and girls camps is for children between 2nd-7th grades. Camp can be a great opportunity for youth to grow in their relationship with the Lord and fellowship with other Christians!
